I made a semi serious effort in this years SCC RTTY test.
And I'm very happy to report that my SDR-1000 with the new 'tuning
techniques' did well in both 'S&P' and 'Run'.
By using Sami's 'HotWheels' applet in conjunction with the Griffin allowed
me to 'adjust frequency' on the fly without the dreaded 'focus' issue.
Using dual monitors, with PWSDR on left and Writelog on right, I could use
either/or the mouse wheel/Griffin Knob to fine tune frequency.
Tuning is more critical in digital modes than cw/ssb where the ear can still
decode but with digital the software is more touchy.
Anyway, I had a fun time, learning this new technique. The super filtering
of the SDR was a benefit.
PS: I'm sure I'm the Harwood Heights IL, High Scorer again this year. <LOL>
