I have the Belkin USB/Serial convertor, actually a number of them, running on
Win 95 and 98, and XP, and XP Pro... They work just fine... Installing the
drivers and getting them to run initially, is a royal pain in the butt... Even
having done it at least a dozen times it can be done sin minutes or it can take
us up to a half hour of reload and retry to coax the drivers into communicating
with Windoze, once installed it is reliable after that... I can 't offer any
more advice than you have received... Follow the directions, run the
executable, etc... IF it still won't work ask around for some pimple faced 14
year old computer geek... That he has never heard of ham radio is immaterial..
He speaks drivers and windoze and that is all he needs to make it work...
Now an important point! Once the USB convertor is installed and windoze is
booted up, the lights will stop flashing - until you plug it into a device and
start up the software for that device and the computer begins polling the
device, then you will see activity on the lights... I am currently running
RigBlaster, MixW2, MMTTY, N1MM, PK232, W1FB, and others, using the Belkin and
it seems bullet proof.. Have faith and get help if you need it...
