Hi all, and Seasons Greetings,
Only a part-time effort from me, in between household chores, shopping and
various other commitments.
With conditions the way there were, I am not surprised at the lower score
this year. It was hard to work into the US, and I only logged a few.
I started just after 0700, and was surprised to hear all bands except 10m
open. Despite the poor conditions, it was good to log Bob ZL2AMI on 40m and
on 20m.
I also logged ZM3R! Who is that?
Towards late afternoon, 20m started to close, and 15m was as dead as the
doorpost, so I concentrated on the lower bands for the extra points. 40m was
odd, in that there were a few audible stations about, but not enough to stay
there and call CQ. 80m was noisy until later in the evening, and I bumped up
my country tally there.
Odd to hear Pete G3KNU on 15m with an S9+20dB signal, an we worked on
backscatter, both pointing east.
Here is my claimed score:
BAND QSOs Points DXCC OK stns
80 49 147 16 11
40 54 183 26 9
20 104 123 35 17
15 9 12 9 0
10 1 1 1 0
217 QSO's
466 pts X (87 DXCC + 37 OK stns) = 57784
Anyway, best wishes to you all, happy holidays (of whichever kind you
celebrate!) and I look forward to working you all again in the new year.
73 de Phil GU0SUP
