Hi Casper,
The solution was in a mail dated 4 may 2004
PS note the contesting.com archive search engine is very useful...
just enter: friend.ini and mixw - that's it...
[RTTY] friend.ini: also usable with N1MM and mixW...

Hi TTY'ers
Following is some information that may not be easy to find, especialy for mixW
(not documented yet).
With N1MM
- place the friend.ini in any convenient directory
- from the file menu \ import \ import cal history (and select friend.ini)
- from the config menu tick "call history lookup"
- whenever {NAME} is encountered in a macro, the name is looked at for the
callsign in the entry field... if not found {NAME} is just ignored.
NB: there is a lot more you can do with the "call history" file... see N1MM
manual for more details. For ex.it should be possible to say Hello in
correspondant native language, using some other coma or = separated fields that
the "call history" file allows ... or anything else you may think about...But
make sure it soes not slow down to much your computer, especialy after 1000
QSO's or so (anyway if you are expecting over 1000 Q's you won't have time to
spend with those features!)
With mixW (from 2.12)
- place the friend.ini in mixW directory
- using the macro editor look at the OM macro and replace "my friend" by
<INIFILE:friend.ini,HI,?C>, or just create the OM macro if it does not exist...
- if the name field is empty (ie contest mode) the value in friend.ini is
looked at whenever <NAME> is encountered
-Alternatively you can use directly <INIFILE:friend.ini,HI,?C> in contest macros
NB: same here, a lot more is feasible using other sections of the friend.ini
(here default is [HI], but you can create others... for example if you want to
send special messages to very good friends...). You are not even limited by the
number of data files you can use...
Have used both and works fine - Hope it helps !

PS: Don't abuse it... in contest once per QSO is more than enough !
Not very contest efficient anyway, but it's part of TTY contests
specificities... (isn't it?)
