Dear Noel

I use in menu 8-4 always tuned

Filters settings depens on condx:
for normal use and dx I use the standard 500 hz filter cascade with the
standard collins 2.4 filter.
for contesting I use : standaard 500 hz cascaded with inrad 400 hz, when the
signals are wall to wall I use
standaard 500hz with yaesu option 250hz, this combo is very narrow but
decodes very fine.

settings of menu 5-4 when pushing nar2 buttom are :

8.2 =  250 + 500 (in my case 400, I have no option 250/8.2 filter installed,
it will be the standaard 500)
455 = 500 + 250
8.2+455 = 250 + 250   (in my case I have no option 250/8.2 installed, it
will be the standaard 500 + 250)
500H = 500 + 500 (in my case 400)

I use mosly setting 500H, but with logger32 I can send CAT codes to the
yaesu (hexadecimal) and I can setup my filters in any combination :
6kHz/250hz  or  500/2.4 or 2.4/400 .... despite the setting of menu 5-4.
I can click on the macro buttoms the transceiver swithes the
filtercombination.
I do not know if other logging programs have such options.

I can publisch these codes ,I you want, on this or on the mp reflector. In
the manual you read these about these cat commando s.

Settings for roofing filters: I have to turn down the 9.1 menu by 2 units,
it is now on integer 10

Hello
I am a new user of the markV field.I have been using them for the fisrt time
in the last SPDX RTTY contest.
If somebody have used the MARK V FIELD in any rtty contests, I do have
three questions.
First...In the menu 8-4, (frontend RF AMP) what is the best setting.Is it
FLAT or TUNED??for contest (rtty)
Second: What kind of filters are the best for RTTY contesting.
I mean what is the setting for the DATA NARROW FILTERS (MENU 5-4)
Is It 8.2 with 250HZ for the second IF and 500HZ for the 3rd IF Or
Is it 455 with 500hz second IF and 250HZ fir the third If
OR 8.2-455...with 250HZ on both IF .This is very important.
And the last question is:
If you have installed the roofing filter in the Field...what is the common
setting used for your menu 9-1??? is it 11 or 12 or 13????? for rtty
contests???
Thanks
NOEL   ve2ryy
