Thanks to all that responded in reference to the question "hal st-8000 vs.
sound cards. Most were very helpful and will be used in my decision as to
whether to stay with the Hal's or switch to soundcards. It seems that most
agree that it all depends on alot of different things. The Hal has served me
well and it will be hard to replace them.
Sometime back I had the setup that Don used, a soundcard for receive only and
then the HAL units as the main TNC for xmit and recieve. This worked very well
but I needed the space on the monitor so I quit using that setup. But got a
new large LCD monitor and computer so I'll probably go back to that arrangement.
Once again thanks to all that responded with your help.
