I have one, and it works well. I better like it since I paid $80 plus tax
for instant gratification a few months ago from Fry's.

This message is a forward from Dennis, NT5TU. Dennis sent it to the list

RTTY Aficionados,

I've followed the multiple discussions on ultimate RTTY sound-cards
(like
http://lists.contesting.com/archives//html/RTTY/2004-03/msg00348.html
et.al.) and decided for myself to get TB Santa Cruz if I ever saw one
for a good price.

This week Circuit city has them on sale for $59.99 before the $40
mail-in rebate. So, if you follow the instructions (cut out UPC bar
code before throwing away the box, fill out envelope) and remember to
mail in the rebate form before the dead-line, it could be yours for
$19.99 + (tax on $59.99).

Our local store (College Station, TX) is already out, but they ordered
one for me, and said it should be here in a week, and I'd still be
eligible for rebates if I paid today.

If the link above is too long, just search their products site for
"SANTACRUZCCS"

I realize that there are even better-performing sound cards out there,
but those prices are usually close to or above $100 (from what I've
seen).

I don't work for Circuit City, don't remember buying anything from them
during the past 5 years, and they had to work really hard to get me back
in there...

I'm just looking for a way to harness the computing power available and
fully utilize the DSP capabilities of MMTTY. I'd REALLY REALLY
appreciate tips on tweaking DSP filter settings for weak-signal
reception as well as QRM-fighting conditions (like in contests) for
MMTTY, preferably written in human language.

I'll also appreciate any feedback about this card, as well as any
warnings like "Don't buy this card, Dude!"

Dennis, NT5TU

PS: While I was in CC I also picked up a wireless optical mouse (TRG
PAWM10U) for $10:
