Very interesting observation, Fred
I just pulled the latest 200 spots worldwide from DXSCAPE
Sorted them in excell by frequency.
Exactly 5 of the 200 spots since 30/3/04 1811Z were for RTTY frequencies, and
these five were only for 15 meters. And the span of
time for these was only 2046 to 2143Z on 30/3/04 (with the last spot only
stating "said went to bed" and not really a spot of
activity.
So the data backs up your observation.... I presume that since these were
worldwide spots (Japan, Europe, US, SA) we didn't miss
anything.
Best regards

Hoping to make a RTTY contact myself...

What I think is happening with 3b9c/rtty:
their main goal is broke the record (number of qsos) of D68C. So, they
remain on cw/ssb untill the rate starts to came down then they move to
rtty. If the rate is going down is because band is going down so signals
aren't
good and period of operation is always too short. Maybe after they broke
the record they will put more time on rtty activity And then I hope I will
be able
to make one qso on rtty...
My two cents ....
