Comments:

Well that was interesting... I was able to get a slightly more effective 
antenna up into the trees just before the contest, so I had a slightly 
easier time on 40/80 than I would have otherwise. It seems like you have to 
have a somewhat more 'effective' station for this sprint format than for a 
regular test, because most contacts seem to involve busting a pileup. Dave 
K6LL may be onto (as opposed to on) something: SOnR may be the way to go - 
pick the screen that is ready for a pounce... I may have to -drink- some of 
the good stuff myself and ponder it further.

Oh - lost the first half hour chasing demons (no not the ones that come from 
the good stuff ;-). Had the station all set up and tested on a dead 
frequency, then tuned to 14080 and tried to answer a CQ - and the 
transmitter promptly locked itself into transmit. (Apologies to the 2 or 3 
stations I smeared.) After much cursing, I found that the transmitter ground 
connection had worked loose. (Add 'check grounds' to the checklist...)
