I've used Network BlackIce too with success, and it's required on laptops at
works. However, I don't need it since I started using a router/hub. I have
a couple of PCs sharing the internet connection, and the router has a
built-in hardware firewall.

About the same experience here. I decided to block all of them
and see what didn't work. So far, everything works.
