Hi all,
And well said Joe!
Just how many times over the last year or two have we heard the phrase
"Sorry, the TU broke, and we don't have a spare".
I think some of the guys that partake in dxpeditions - particularly the
"mini" type, or one-man-holiday operations, need to be educated about just
how easy it is to work RTTY via the soundcard.
I am sure that some feel that to provide RTTY means they have to carry heavy
TU's, operate DOS software, etc etc. We all know this isn't the case, but
why else have we been told that it isn't possible to do RTTY?
However, I will counter my own argument slightly by saying that PSK can work
better with weak signals! I might (stress the MIGHT!) have got into the log
of K1B with PSK, but RTTY was just a bit too weak.
So, come on guys, go to your local club, give demo's of RTTY, and let's get
RTTY firmly back in control!
