Hello!
One way to insulate yourself from those viruses that are
coming through this reflector would be to receive messages
in a plain-text digest. If you select the digest option,
you can choose either MIME (preserving any attachments,
including these pesky viruses) or plain-text (attachments
will be big blocks of text, lots of jumbled text in the
case of these viruses - but not able to run on your computer).
I have received 4 digests from this list since I turned my
laptop on this morning, so with the increased volume of
messages you won't be too far behind someone not using the
digests. You can get to your options related to this list
at:

Or, if you don't want to go to a digest form yet want to
cut down on the chances of being hit with a virus, you
could (1) use some other e-mail program besides lookOut
or lookOut Express, or (2) use some other operating system
besides Windows. Chen's on a Mac, I run Linux on an IBM
ThinkPad laptop, it's possible. I understand that we
might be in the minority, and most people can't move away
from Windows systems - I'm dealing with the recent upsurge
in viruses on a few of the 20 PCs in my office (all use
Windows 95, 98, or NT) - but a good anti-virus program
that's running and kept updated is one way to deal with
this.
Now ducking for cover.....
