Was it a .txt with another extension such as .txt.pif? A file ending in
.txt is not executable by itself. A person would have to take some
additional step such as converting it to an executable format.
Like I said, it is possible the virus writers may figure out a way to
make a .txt file executable, but as far as I know, for now it can't be
done. Perhaps if it was linked from an HTML document which itself
contained some conversion code it might be possible, but the real threat
would be the HTML, not the .txt.
Nasty little buggers, aren't they?
