Soapbox: I want to thank all of you that looked to the Pacific for the Q's.
I got a late start, so I just played around and tried some things out in
preparation for SARTG. One thing that needs to change is the 40m
arrangement here. I had an extended double zepp up at 65 feet facing CONUS.
Fed with open wire to a parallel tuner. Boy, you fellas must have had a
lot of QRN, I was hearing some stations 10-20 over 9 here, but no one heard
me. :-(( So it's back to the phased verticals for the next one. 20m
opened up the last 1/2 hour of the contest for me. That's when I got my
best rates. Didn't hear much DX on and only worked 4 non-US stations.
Maybe I took a break at the wrong time? :-)
I had to ask NO2T for a couple of repeats to make sure the name wasn't
garbled even tho he had a very nice signal here. Mr. Chen, thank you for
helping in the reclaimation effort. :-) What follows is a 6 hour effort.
Lots of fun tho and cu all next year.
