Thanks. Yes, there are two low voltage wires that go out to the compressor.
I was assured by the guy that installed thecsystem that there are no
electronics at the far end, just a contactor coil. The was no indication
that the compressor was trying to start when we did our testing either.
Also, the cooling wire from the thermostat is passed on to the compressor
through the furnace and is be part of the cable I intend to put the core
on. The run from furnace to outside is not long and is accessible should I
need to put suppression on it.
