About a month ago, I put together this document addressing exactly that question, and some others. It plots the published results of ARRL Lab testing of selected transceivers on the same graphs, thus allowing easy comparison of the data. The older Flex rigs are pretty bad for phase noise, but decent for keying bandwidth. The worst of the worst for keying bandwidth is Yaesu, with Icom a distant second. Note that all of these measurements were by ARRL -- only the analysis is mine.
