Thanks for the report, Don. Another simple solution that would have
worked is to use three twisted pairs, one for each phase. It's easy to
make twisted pair by cutting two conductors a bit longer than you need
length, clamping one end of both down to a nail or bench vise, sticking
the two conductors in a drill, and running the drill a while at low speed.
Few people realize that twisting is as effective as shielding up to
pretty high frequencies, and far superior to shielding at low
frequencies (audio).
