I am going to be using a somewhat modified Messenger M4V
solid state
amp for 160-10M.
I will be adding a bandswitched filter, a SWR protection
circuit, some bias
mods, and will make various other tweaks so that it runs
clean and safe.
In order to prevent FMing or audio oscillations I will add
one of the big
Farad caps to the DC supply line to keep the voltage from
varying during
modulation peaks and dips.
I notice that some of those caps have a digital display. I
am guessing that
the circuitry is really cheaply made with little or no
bypassing or shielding.
Has anyone tested them for RFI?
