Been following this tread for a while...in my community we've had a
significant problem with false alerts from detectors. The cause was tracked
back to an asphalt plant up wind. When the particulate mater in the air
reaches the right level the detectors will false alarm...don't know the
situation but perhaps there is a connection between dusty conditions in the
area of the tower...we've found the more expensive detectors suffer less
from false alerts.

How about a Google search on that detector, looking for
false alarms? If it is happening in more than just his own
unit(s), it may be generic to that detector and clearly not
your problem.
