Many thanks to Cortland and everyone else for the responses. They've been very helpful. The device in question has no FCC label that I could find. Here's what's printed on it: Miller Model LVT-60N E185680 Input 120v 50/60 Hz Output 11.6v 60W MAX MADE IN CHINA CAUTION: Indoor use only Was it illegal for this device to have been installed?
