PG&E fixed most of my noise problem last week .. 2 days ago, an RFI guy ..
WB6FSZ (PGE employee for RFI--super nice guy) showed up to check out a
next-door SWL/CBers noise, and we had a nice nose-to-nose QSO .. it was
already GONE, due to the PG&E having replaced bad insulators on their 12-7KV
lines .. here's where the "cute" device he was using originated, but ..
was already solved by my short-wave radios. It is a nice piece of
equipment, but .. FYI .. put a cheapo AM radio on an unused frequency ..
look for louder noise . and .. then .. hold the radio (the ferrite aerial)
AGAINST the pole .. you will find the offending location .. Mark AA6DX
I WILL BE SHOWING PICTURES OF THE DIRTY INSULATORS, ETC.. ON ONE OF MY
WEBSITES.. WILL GIVE POSTING DATA HERE !!! I have them .. in hand .. HIHI.

Fellow RFI'ers:

I am a Communications Specialist and Interference Investigator for a large
electric utility.

The company provides me with very esoteric and expensive tools specifically
designed to locate "sparking" interference sources typically caused by high
voltages carried on our transmission and distribution facilities.
