I don't think I've seen Bob Cringely's article cited here: http://www.pbs.org/cringely/pulpit/pulpit20041021.html He implies that ARRL is now cool with the FCC decision on BPL, which seems dubious to me. He does, however, mention two types of BPL, where one does not use ham frequencies at all.
