Underground Power splice crimps and ground vault transformers can be locations of line arcs and RFI. Underground does produce RFI, especially in wet or improperly executed connections. Some of the older styles of underground cable are now showing their age and suffering insulation failure in wet areas. RFI conducted on the underground lines, then radiated by above ground house and business AC wiring.
