Well, if my electric utility gives this a try, I wish them luck. They
are bankrupt, have deferred maintenance for years, don't respond to
service calls unless something is on fire, at least 10,000 customers go
offline every time it rains - I am sure they will be able to provide
the same level of customer service and availability that all internet
users have come to respect.
And the prospect of network techs working on 15kV distribution lines -
let's just say I wouldn't want to be their insurance carrier!
Hopefully this technology will be made a laughing stock.
