For the 160 meter RFI: As a precaution put a ferrite balun (line isolator) at the feedpoint and another as the coax enters the house. It is more likely that direct radiation from the antenna is getting into the security system picked up on the long wires from the sensors and being led to the active circuit box. The cure is to put ferrite snap-ons on the cable bundles right at the control box. This has been effective in many installations. -- Jack, K6NY, Palomar Engineers |
