OK RFI Gurus,

Here's another one for you:

My wife and I have just installed some rather expensive kitchen cabinets
that have low voltage touch lighting sensors underneath them for under
cabinet lighting. It's quite a nice system, but as I discovered tonight,
not friendly with RF.

The system works like this:

It is made by Hera who I believe is from Israel.

The system consists of a touch control module that plugs into the AC mains.
It has an output plug and a wire that goes to the metal surface of whatever
you are going to touch.

A lamp transformer unit plugs into the output plug of the switch unit. This
unit steps the voltage down to around 12 Volts for the ilghting.

When I first started keying my transmitter this evening (200 Watts out), my
wife mentioned I was messing with the lights. UGH! So I got out some
torroids and started experimenting.

I've been able to get the lamp I am working with clean on all bands but 10
meters at full legal limit. Here's what I have so far. All torroids are
Amidon FT-77 material.

One large torroid has wrapped about 5 turns (all I could get) of the AC line
going to the AC mains. It is near the AC outlet.

One large torroid has the low voltage line wrapped around it - about 20
turns or so.

One small torroid has about 15 turns of the touch sensor wire wrapped around
it.

Now, what can I do better with this to clean up 10 meters? Where is it most
effective to put my torroids? Do I need to put it on the line going to the
AC mains outlet, but with more turns and closer to the switch unit? Do I
need more turns on the touch sensor wire? More on the low voltage side?

Any help or advice would be great. So far, just one light is installed, but
the installer will be adding the rest in the next week or so. I want to get
this fixed before he puts all the lights in place.

And no cracks about how I shouldn't have touch sensors and no religious talk
about how I should operate QRP.

Thanks in advance for the help.

73,

Jon
