Hello all.
Have had a problems for a numbers of years since a small strip mall was
resurrected that is located about a mile from here. I have at times an
unbearable situation on 10 meters that produces a S9 noise in the direction
of the stores. The local utility has been helpful fixing their HV problems,
but now we're down to private concerns.
Seems as if a number of signs including a marquee are now the culprits
because the noise disappears late at night when they're turned off. Casual
observation on 120 MHz AM with a unidirectional mobile antenna has found
this, however more snooping with directional antennas will have to be done
to determine which ones are the biggest offenders. Looks like it may be a
combination of florescent tubes from the marquee and the fancy "Subway" type
signs.
Has any one fixed this type of problem?
Any help would be greatly appreciated because 10 is unusable to the west.
Thank you. 73,
Bob, K3GT
