Here is the current forecast discussion on space weather and geophysical activity, issued 2022 Dec 12 1230 UTC.

Solar Activity

24 hr Summary: Solar activity was at low levels. C-flare activity was produced by Regions 3153 (S17W65, Fho/beta), 3156 (N28W60, Dao/beta), 3163 (S20E46, Eso/beta), and 3166 (S08E37, Bxo/beta). The largest flare was a C3 at 12/0035 UTC from Region 3156. Slight growth was observed in Regions 3163, 3164 (S20W40, Cro/beta), 3165 (S20W17, Cro/beta), and 3156. Slight decay was observed in Regions 3157 (N16W43, Esi/beta) and 3166. The rest of the spotted regions were relatively stable. No Earth-directed CMEs were observed.

Forecast: Solar activity is expected to be low through 14 Dec with a slight chance for M-class (R1-R2, Minor-Moderate) flares.

Energetic Particle

24 hr Summary: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux was at low to moderate levels. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at background levels.

Forecast: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux is expected to remain at low to moderate levels while the greater than 10 MeV proton flux is expected to continue at background levels on 12-14 Dec.

Solar Wind

24 hr Summary: Solar wind parameters were slightly enhanced over the period. Solar wind speed ranged from 419-531 km/s. Total field was between 5-7 nT while the Bz component reached as far south as -6 nT. Phi angle was predominantly negative.

Forecast: Solar wind parameters are expected to be at or near background levels through 14 Dec.

Geospace

24 hr Summary: The geomagnetic field was quiet to unsettled.

Forecast: The geomagnetic field is expected to be mostly quiet with isolated unsettled periods possible through 14 Dec.
