Here is the current forecast discussion on space weather and geophysical activity, issued 2022 Dec 11 1230 UTC.

Solar Activity

24 hr Summary: Solar activity continued at low levels. C-class flaring was observed from Regions 3161 (N26W37, Axx/alpha) and 3163 (S20E58, Eso/beta). The largest was a C5 flare at 10/1611 UTC from Region 3163. Slight decay was observed in the trailing spots of Region 3163 and in the intermediate and trailing spots of Region 3157 (N16W30, Esi/beta). Slight growth was observed in Region 3156 (N28W47, Dso/beta). Region 3153 (S17W52, Fho/beta) was relatively stable. New spot emergence was noted near S20W22, S20W02, and S09E55. No Earth-directed CMEs were observed.

Forecast: Solar activity is expected to be low through 13 Dec with a slight chance for M-class (R1-R2, Minor-Moderate) flares.

Energetic Particle

24 hr Summary: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux was at low to moderate levels. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at background levels.

Forecast: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux is expected to remain at low to moderate levels while the greater than 10 MeV proton flux is expected to continue at background levels on 11-13 Dec.

Solar Wind

24 hr Summary: Solar wind parameters were slightly enhanced over the period. Solar wind speed ranged from 423-519 km/s. Total field ranged from 3-8 nT while the Bz component was between +/-7 nT. Phi angle was mostly negative until 11/0128 UTC and variable thereafter.

Forecast: Solar wind parameters are expected to be at or near background levels through 13 Dec.

Geospace

24 hr Summary: The geomagnetic field was quiet to unsettled.

Forecast: The geomagnetic field is expected to be mostly quiet through 13 Dec.
