Here is the current forecast discussion on space weather and geophysical activity, issued 2021 Aug 03 1230 UTC.

Solar Activity

24 hr Summary: Solar activity was very low with one sunspot group present on the visible disk. Region 2850 (S32W34, Cro/beta) was uneventful. No Earth-directed CMEs were observed in available coronagraph imagery.

Forecast: Very low solar activity is expected, with a slight chance of C-class flares 03-05 Aug.

Energetic Particle

24 hr Summary: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux was normal to moderate and the greater than 10 MeV proton flux remained at background values.

Forecast: Normal to moderate levels of the greater than 2 MeV electron flux are expected 03-05 Aug and the greater than 10 MeV proton flux is expected to continue at background.

Solar Wind

24 hr Summary: Solar wind parameters were indicative of passing feature in the solar wind. Total IMF strength increased and reached a peak of 13 nT at 02/1810 UTC. Bz reached maximum deflections of -13 nT. Density values increased. Solar wind speed ranged mostly from 360-410 km/s and the phi angle was variable.

Forecast: Waning enhancement in solar wind conditions is expected later on 03 Aug and into 04 Aug. An enhancement is possible on 05 Aug due to influences of an approaching CIR ahead of a positive polarity CH HSS.

Geospace

24 hr Summary: The geomagnetic field reached active to G1 (Minor) storm levels in response to the enhanced IMF and prolonged period of pronounced southward Bz component.

Forecast: The geomagnetic field is expected to become predominantly quiet to unsettled later on 03 Aug. Mainly quiet conditions are expected on 04 Aug. Quiet to unsettled conditions are anticipated on 05 Aug.
