Here is the current forecast discussion on space weather and geophysical activity, issued 2020 May 18 1230 UTC.

Solar Activity

24 hr Summary: Solar activity continued at very low levels. No Earth-directed CMEs were observed in available satellite imagery.

Forecast: Solar activity is expected to persist at very low levels 18-20 May.

Energetic Particle

24 hr Summary: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux was at normal to moderate levels and the greater than 10 MeV proton flux remained at background values.

Forecast: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux is expected to continue at normal to moderate levels 18-20 May and the greater than 10 MeV proton flux is expected to remain at background levels.

Solar Wind

24 hr Summary: Solar wind parameters reflected a nominal solar wind regime. Wind speeds were steady at around 300 km/s, total magnetic field strength remained at or below 5 nT, and the Bz component was predominately neutral or northward. The phi angle was in a predominately positive orientation throughout the period.

Forecast: A nominal solar wind regime is expected to persist through a majority of 18 May. Late on 18 May, wind parameters are expected to become enhanced due to positive polarity CH influence. Enhanced conditions are expected to persist on 19 and 20 May.

Geospace

24 hr Summary: The geomagnetic field was at quiet levels.

Forecast: The geomagnetic field is expected to be at quiet levels through a majority of 18 May. Beginning late on 18 May, and continuing through 19-20 May, quiet to unsettled conditions are likely due to influence from an isolated, equatorial, positive polarity CH HSS.
