Here is the current forecast discussion on space weather and geophysical activity, issued 2019 Dec 30 1230 UTC.

Solar Activity

24 hr Summary: Solar activity was very low this period. No active regions with sunspots were observed and no earth-directed CMEs were detected in available coronagraph imagery.

Forecast: Solar activity is expected to continue at very low levels on 30-31 Dec and 01 Jan.

Energetic Particle

24 hr Summary: Both the greater than 2 MeV electron flux and the greater than 10 MeV proton flux were below event thresholds throughout the period.

Forecast: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux is expected to be at normal to moderate levels, while the greater than 10 MeV proton flux is expected to persist at background levels throughout the forecast period (30-31 Dec and 01 Jan).

Solar Wind

24 hr Summary: Solar wind parameters were at background levels this period.

Forecast: An increase in wind parameters is expected on 30 Dec as an equatorial, negative polarity CH HSS rotates into a geoeffective position. Enhanced wind parameters are expected to persist on 31 Dec through 01 Jan due to the aforementioned equatorial CH, coupled with a negative extension CH off the southern crown.

Geospace

24 hr Summary: The geomagnetic field was at quiet levels.

Forecast: Quiet to unsettled conditions are likely on 30-31 Dec and 01 Jan due to weak, negative polarity CH HSS influence.
