Here is the current forecast discussion on space weather and geophysical activity, issued 2019 Jan 25 1230 UTC.

Solar Activity

24 hr Summary: Solar activity continued at very low levels with multiple B-class flares observed from Region 2733 (N06W14, Dsi/beta). The largest was a B6 flare at 25/0411 UTC. Slight growth was observed in the intermediate area of Region 2733. A filament eruption was observed in SDO/AIA 304 imagery beginning at 25/0928 UTC off the SE quadrant. We are currently waiting on further coronagraph imagery to determine if there is an Earth-directed component.

Forecast: Solar activity is expected to be at very low levels with a chance for C-class flares from Region 2733 over the next three days (25-27 Jan).

Energetic Particle

24 hr Summary: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux was at normal levels and the greater than 10 MeV proton flux continued at background values.

Forecast: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux is expected to be at normal levels on day one (25 Jan), increase to moderate levels on day two (26 Jan), and reach high levels by day three (27 Jan) due to CH HSS influences. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux is expected to maintain background levels.

Solar Wind

24 hr Summary: Solar wind parameters continued under the influence of a positive polarity CH HSS. Solar wind speed ranged from approximately 540-660 km/s. Total field ranged from 2-11 nT while the Bz component was between +/-7 nT. Phi angle was oriented in a mostly positive solar sector.

Forecast: Influence from the positive polarity CH HSS is expected to slowly wane on day two (26 Jan), returning to mostly ambient conditions by day three (27 Jan).

Geospace

24 hr Summary: The geomagnetic field ranged from quiet to G1 (Minor) storm levels in response to CH HSS influence.

Forecast: The geomagnetic field is expected to be at quiet to active levels on day one (25 Jan). A decrease to unsettled levels on day two (26 Jan) and mostly quiet levels on day three (27 Jan) is expected as influence from the CH HSS slowly diminishes.
