Here is the current forecast discussion on space weather and geophysical activity, issued 2018 Jan 27 1230 UTC.

Solar Activity

24 hr Summary: Solar activity was very low. The solar disk remained spotless. No Earth-directed CMEs were observed in available satellite imagery.

Forecast: Solar activity is expected to continue at very low levels all three days (27-29 Jan).

Energetic Particles

24 hr Summary: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux reached moderate levels. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux continued at background values.

Forecast: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux is expected to be at normal to moderate levels and the greater than 10 MeV proton flux is expected to continue at background levels over the next three days (27-29 Jan).

Solar Wind

24 hr Summary: Solar wind parameters suggested influence of a negative polarity CH HSS. Wind speeds peaked at 520 km/s at 26/1325 UTC and declined to end the period near 435 km/s. Total field began the period at 7 nT but decreased to 3 nT. Bz did not drop lower than -4 nT. Phi was predominantly negative with brief periods into positive territory.

Forecast: Solar wind parameters are expected to be near nominal or slightly enhanced over the next three days (27-29 Jan) due to the anticipated weak influence from several small coronal holes.

Geospace

24 hr Summary: The geomagnetic field was at quiet to unsettled levels.

Forecast: The geomagnetic field is expected to reach unsettled periods on days one and three (27 and 29 Jan) in response to anticipated weak CH HSS influence. Mostly quiet conditions are expected on day two (28 Jan).
