COMMENT: The Sun remains inactive and is expected to remain so over the next 3
days. This morning, Oct. 2 at 02:00UT, the solar wind speed jumped to 380km/s.
The interplanetary magnetic field rose to 10nT with wide fluctuations of the Bz
component. This weak event may be the consequence of the filament eruption of
Sept. 28, mentionned yesterday. So far, it only induced unsettled geomagnetic
conditions. The Earth magnetosphere is expected to remain unsettled for the next
few hours, with possible active periods, especially at high latitudes.
