COMMENT: Solar and geomagnetic conditions have remained quiet over the past 24
hours. Catania sunspot group 06 (NOAA 0667) has further rotated into view. So
far, a large leader spot and a few small spots are visible. Its magnetic
structure is still difficult to determine, but so far very little activity is
observed, so the group has probably decayed significantly compared to its
previous rotation. It is the only significant sunspot group visible, so there is
little chance for a large flare.
The solar wind speed continues at the elevated value of 450km/s, but with a
north-south component of the IMF near zero, this has not generated strong
geomagnetic disturbances.
