Sinisa,
I performed the test you outlined:
> Orion I with V2.055 set up as follows:
> MAIN RX on ANT1 and VFO A, 3750 kHz LSB,
> 6 kHz roofing filter, BW = 2500 Hz, PBT = 0 Hz, 199 taps
> RF GAIN = 100, PREAMP ON, no ATTN
>
> A -79 dBm (S8 dB) carrier at 3750 kHz presented to ANT 1 input.
My results are very different from Barry's(N1EU). I first did the test on
V1.373b5 with an S8 carrier. There was NO spur with "reverse tune direction"
as you described. There was a very low spur up about 3 KHz it was really
down in the mud.
Then I loaded V2.055 and ran the same test. I did hear the "reverse tune
direction" spur and it was very audible.
I reloaded V1.373b5 and re-ran the test. Again, no "reverse tune spur".
I'm not sure why Barry got different results? Could be because he was using
an S9+20 carrier? Ididn't try that. Maybe someone else can also run the test
as described.
