NA Users:
Upon further examination, it appears that the NA bug concerning the
reported CATEGORY is somewhat limited in scope.
Upon examining the NA source code, the categories not reported correctly
are MULTI OPERATOR and SCHOOL CLUB. All the other categories report correctly.
SS multi-operator entries can get around the problem by selecting MULTI
SINGLE rather than MULTI OPERATOR. With either case, Cabrillo
specification calls for the file to show MULTI-SINGLE. (One might ask "why
the difference"? Indeed, SS multi-op is single transmitter, but their
rules always called it "multi operator".)
In the process of reviewing this bug, we also discovered that single-band
entries in DX contests do not have their band-category reported correctly -
its reported blank rather than all. This will be corrected in the next
version.
A corrected version will be out in the next day or so.
Some have asked if these bug effects other contests. For the most part,
the answer is no - it only appears to effect entries in the MULTI-OPERATOR
and SCHOOL CLUB categories which are pretty much unique to SS, and single
band categories which tend to apply to DX contests.
