NA-Users:
We just discovered an important bug in NA's implementation of Cabrillo.
The line CATEGORY is supposed to read like this:
CATEGORY: operator-category band-category power-category mode-category
NA omits "operator-category", but the other pieces of data are OK.
While the log checkers can determine the category from your exchange, it
really should be supplied in the CATEGORY line of the file header. To fix
this, there are two options:
1. NA Version 10.51 will be out tonite which will write CATEGORY line
correctly.
2. You can fix it yourself.
To fix it yourself, open your Cabrillo file with a text editor. Find the
CATEGORY line (K8CC example shown below):
CATEGORY: ALL HIGH CW
All SS logs are "ALL" band. The next word will be HIGH, LOW, or QRP
depending on your power class, and since we're referring to the past CW
contest, the next word will be CW.
The operator-category needs to be added before the "ALL". Here are the
valid operator-categories for SS:
SINGLE-OP
SINGLE-OP-ASSISTED
MULTI-ONE
SCHOOL-CLUB
So in K8CC's log, the line will read:
CATEGORY: MULTI-ONE ALL HIGH CW
Put a space between each item, with no other punctuation.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
