I had the same problem with some masthead amps so the answer is to
isolate the power to the KN205 with a DC-DC converter this means that
the telco stuff is at -48v, earth is 0V and the KN 205 is at +24v or
+48V (depending on the converter), just be careful not to get between
the -48v and the +48v it might just kill you.

Nope, I've got bunches of KN50's running off 48vdc. Great for long
runs to
the CPE.
And I'll bet the PoE power supply in the KN50 is the same as that in
the
KN-105/205. And by the way, it must be a dc-dc converter, right? And
if it
is, why should you have dc ground path problems? The power goes through
a
transformer, as part of the dc/dc conversion.
