ouch, that sucks.

I have a similar situation with a backup link. I have an AP-1000 with 1
Orinoco card that services the local area and the secondary card is a backup
to the 5.8ghz trango radio I have. I figured I might as well use that slot
for something. I've lost the link twice, (the backup one) and replaced the
Orinoco card both times....it died again a few days ago. I'm not sure what
the deal is but that slot keeps killing any PC card I put in it.

Anyway, back to your issue, I have seen where a card can go bad and the AP
won't completely boot. I've not seen where a card will go bad and the ap
will complete its boot process. So, if something failed...it's probably
beyond the transmitter/receiver in the PC card. Since you said you
unplugged the board for like 30 minutes, I'd guess the board is still fine
but your radios are dead. Either that or water in a connector? If I had
to drive 90 minutes to get there, I'd take a new board, pigtails, radios,
antennas and feed line.

I don't like to make second trips. Do you need 200mW cards in that setup?
If not....use standard Orinoco cards, you'll probably have better luck.
