If you have a computer with a USB port that won't boot from a
USB stick, you may still be able to run DOS and put your log
files on the USB stick. You can probably boot DOS from a CD.
If your BIOS will recognize a USB stick, it will be configured as C:\.
You can put all of your program and data files on the USB stick
and just use the CD to boot the computer.
I have a procedure that describes how to create a bootable
CD with DOS on it. If anyone would like a copy, please let me
know. It seems a bit complex, but only takes a few minutes
to create the CD after you've done one.
