I fixed a few things this weekend at while at KC1XX'x place.

-------------- next part --------------
* Version 9.00 released at Dayton, 1994

9.01

* Fixed QSL mode crash printing labels

* FD users please note, that V8 and V9 are *not* compatible for FD. The
number of bands and band modes was changed this year. CT9 follows the
  new rules.

9.02

* In WPX, compressed the Chk Country window so SR/SS are now visible.

9.03

* The position of the highlight bar in WPX check prefix is fixed.

* The new command line switch, -RESET resets all colors and positions to
  default values when CT starts.

* All talk messages are logged to a .TLK file at each operating
  position.

* The network no longer restricts messaging to multi-ops. Messages
are not checked for category, they are just sent.

* Notes (ALT-N) are passed around the network, so each station has the
  complete record.

* Calls may be entered in the bandmap, even without a computer controlled
radio. Type the callsign, then press CTRL ENTER. CT prompts you for
  a frequency.

* The bandmap now shows correct times. This was broken.

* There is a new text command for multiops: PASSFREQ. Use this to inform
all the other computers in the network of your desired pass frequency.

* The call of the current operator appears in the border of the summary
window. Use OPON to change calls.

* In multi-mode contests, ctrl-F1 and ctrl-F2 now properly change the
RS(T) field.

* Fixed a crash in IARU when updating prior QSOs.

* There is a new text command, "POLL", used to set the radio polling rate.
This is also the rate at which radio frequencies are broadcast around
the network. This is also supported in CT.CFG using the key word "POLL."
The default polling speed is one second.

* The WAEE score window is fixed.

* The NOWORKDUPE problem is fixed.

* The WAEE output log now shows the correct serial numbers.

* For WAEE QTC's are passed around the network. You may not revise a
QTC once it has been sent.

* Fixed the .ZON file for IARU.

* Two new fields have appeared in the Information Sheet: Rotor 1 and
Rotor 2. You may select either no rotor or the Yaesu GS232. Each rotor
may be assigned to a comm port in the setup screen, just as radios
  are assigned to comm ports.

* Ctrl F10 is the point the beam command...supported for Yaesu rotors
only. If CT finds a number from 0 to 360 in the callsign field, it
swings the beam to that heading. If CT finds a prefix, it rotates to
  point at that country.

* Rotor 1 is the default, but rotor 2 may be selected using ALTSLASH, that
is, the ALT Ket and the '/' key pressed together. ALTSLACH is a toggle
from 1 to 2 ad back.

* Note to K1GQ -- MYFREQ has changed to PASSFREQ --

* CT allows four more comports, and supplies four more COMTSR's:
COMTSR5,6,7,8. We use a two port com board from

        Sealevel Systems
        PO Box 830
        102 West Main Street
        Liberty, SC 29657
        (803)843-4343

Their part number is #3088. Port numbers and IRQ's used by COMTSR:

COMTSR5 280 IRQ 10
COMTSR6 288 IRQ 11
COMTSR7 290 IRQ 12
COMTSR8 298 IRQ 15

See the docs that come with the board to set it up.

9.04 and 9.05 have minor bug fixes in CQP and IARU

9.06

* Fixed the "appearing zone problem" when toggling run and mult
station in M/S.

9.07

* Fixed crash when using WRITELOG in DXP contests

* Fixed band map for non-computer-controlled radios.

9.08

* CT toggles LPT2 pin 2 (data bit 0) when switching from radio 1 to radio 2.
This allows external hardware to switch keys, mics, or whatever.

* the -LOOP switch should now work

9.09

* Fixed a bunch of little bugs reported via internet. Please send e-mail
to: K1EA@CONTESTING.COM.

9.10a

* This is the big October release!

* DVPPATH was broken and had to be repaired at the last moment.

* serial numbers in WPX and SS when switching radios have been fixed.

9.11

* This fixes the radio 1 startup problem for computer controlled radios.

9.12

* Minor bug fixes.

9.13

* This fixes the problem with two ICOM radios of different model types.

9.14

* This fixes incorrect initialization of comports 5, 6, 7 and 8

* Pressing ALT F4 before any spots have been received caused a crash.
  This is fixed.

* CT no longer leaves the cursor in the wrong place if the packet talk
window is active and another editing function is invoked. If the
cursor is left in the packet talk window, and another window is placed
on top of it, within 1 second, the packet window is placed on top again.

* A new entry in CT.CFG
   AUTOSAVE: ON
This automatically enables autosave on a new log.

* Single Ops and Single Unlimited may now use two computers
  networked together.

* The '+' character embedded in a CW msg causes the CW speed to increase
by three words per minute. Similarly, a '-' character slows down sending
by three words per minute. for example: ++5NN35-- causes the exchange
to be sent 6 wpm faster thatn the current CW speed.

9.15

* The half space character has been changed from '-' to '^' (shift 6).

* There is a new startup switch -HP. When invoked, this causes CT to write
logs the PCL4 codes for compressed and uncompressed printing. Use this with
your HP printers. (Tnx N6EK)

* Fixed the missing gridmap in VHF tests

* To grab a spot from the announce window, after an ALT A, press ALT F4
instead of Enter. Too many times I pressed Enter by accident when in the
Announce window.

* When spotting a station (ALT F3), CT translates a '/' character to
' QSX '. CT9 now matches its documentation. (Tnx W9ZRX)

* A bad protocol type in a networked message now generates and error message
instead of
causing the program to halt with a message.

* MEMLEFT now works again. This should be much more accurate than it
  has been in the past.

9.16

* Many DVP commands, with no DVP installed, caused a crash. This is fixed.

* ARRL 160 mtr contest .MUL file did not contain sections. Fixed

9.17

* This should fix the TS850 CW upper/lower sideband commands.

* The POLL command is gone.

9.18

* No good -- do not use.

9.19

* Fixes crashes in 9.17 and 9.18 updating old QSO's.

9.20

* Fixes crash in 9.17 - 9.20 using Ctrl-F9 (Rate Sheet).

* Fixes crash when clicking the mouse off screen.

9.21

* In 50 line (VGA) mode, changed the block cursor to underline.

9.22

* This removes country credit for /MM stations

9.23

* This fixes the "walking TS950" problem. IE repeated ALT F4's when the
RIT is on and non-zero, would cause the 950 to move one RIT's worth
each time it returned to the run freq.

* DVPTSR 1.04 has been released. The repeat timer now resets properly
after ESC has aborted a CQ.

* Add an offset to your rotor control with the text command OFFSET. Enter
a positive of negative number. IE +90 instructs CT to send the rotor 90
degrees clockwise relative to the "normal" setting.

* The '+' and '-' symbols in CW messages now work differently. A '+'
embedded in any cw msg speeds up that msg by 5 wpm. A '-' slows it
down by 5 wpm. At the end of the message or after ESC has been pressed,
the CW speed reverts to its value prior to the message. There is
no longer any need to balance '+' and '-' symbols in a CW message.

9.25

* Fix ten and six meter logging problem in FD

* Alt F4 now sends you to the last entry in the announce window, as it used
  to.

* Fixed RST SENT reports in IARU.LOG to reflect actual mode worked.

* ALTZ now toggles the zone window

* The plus/minus one bug in the rate calculation is finally fixed. The
11% inflation of the ten qso rate is gone, so you will have to work a
little harder to pump up the old ego (Tnx K1TO)

* The rate (ALTR) and summary (ALTS) keys now toggle their windows.

* CT always looks for the MASTER.DTA file. You no longer need to enable
  it with the -D switch.

* The IC775 is now supported. N3RS sez it's a great radio.

9.26

* add support for FT1000MP, TS50, Omni VI

* fixed the misplaced decimal point in frequency display in VHF contests

* The radio control bit has moved to pin 16 on the LPT connector. This is
used to select external switching hardware for single-multi operation.

9.27

* Fix FT1000MP bug

9.30

* This is the big switch to Watcom compiler

* Fixed novice band FD bug

* Fixed keying in LPT1/2

9.31

* Fix IARU HQ reporting (tnx KB1GW)

9.32

* Fix CT_PATH environment variable (tnx AD1C)

* Fix FT1000MP clarifier problem (tnx W1WEF)

* Add Zone to CQWW Summary Sheet

* Fixed the screwy multiplier in the breakdown sheet. (tnx K4AB)

9.33

* Fix the "lost frequency problem" when a prior qso is modified. CT had been
clearing the frequency information leading to alot of QSO's with band, but not
exact frequency info. (tnx NU6I)

* CT used to toggle a radio1/radio2 bit on LPT1. This has been removed, as it
messes up CW sending on two radios. (tnx N6TV)

9.34

* Radio control pin moved to Pin 14 of LPT1 (tnx W6NL and PA3AAV)

* Band data on LPT1 and LPT2 is fixed (tnx PA3AAV)

* Fixed the multiop bug that moves the cursor to the beginning of the
call when someone else modifies a QSO. The DX'peditions and other
multi-ops have been suffering with this for years. (rnx K0IR)

* moved the default bandmap to the right

* CT now self-registers. REGISTER.EXE is no longer needed.

* Fixed Ctrl-L bug where a qso marked as a non-qso was still checked for dupe
purposes. (tnx ZL2BSJ)

* The internal storage representation of time has been adjusted by
seven hours to match ANSI standard time functions. On startup, if CT
finds a log using the old standard, it adjusts each qso and re-writes
the log. This takes a few seconds.

* If you export your logs to other programs, and the export program
uses the old CT format, either use FIX_TIME to adjust the time, or
ask the publisher of the target program to contact me for details. I
have created a new B2R9 which understands the new time format.

* The new time scheme fixes the two hour error in the M/S QSY meter
and the two hour offset in the ARRL CALL.LOG file. (tnx K2QMF)

* The new time scheme fixes the sked function (ALt-E) (tnx N1BB)

* CT assumes your computer is set to UTC. If you wish to leave it on
local time, set the TZ environment variable. For example:

SET TZ=EST5 // eastern standard time 5 hours behind
SET TZ=PDT7 // pacific daylight time 7 hours behind
SET TZ=CEU-2 // european central time 2 hours ahead
SET TZ NST3:30 // newfoundland std time 3 hours 30 minutes behind

The first three letters of the TZ spec don't mean anything, but the time
offset does. For example,

SET TZ=XYZ-6:27 // tells CT to assume you are 6 hours, 27 minutes
                     // ahead of UTC

CT will automatically compute UTC based on the TZ variable. CT won't
compensate for daylight savings, avoiding the sudden change in time
during CQWW SSB.

* WWV announcements are logged to a file named <contest>.wwv (tnx K1VR)

* Long country names are truncated in the check country window,
leaving room for the the zone. (tnx K1AE)

9.36

* CT now supports point and shoot for the band map:
Use ALT RIGHT ARROW to enter the band map. Select a spot with the UP ARROW or
DOWN ARROW, then press <Enter>. This is similar to the Announce Window
point and shoot. When you are done, ALT F4 transfers you back to your
run frequency as usual. You may also delete a selected QSO in the Band Map
  by pressing the DEL key.

* Alt F4 has changed a bit. First, select a spot through either
Announce Window point and shoot, or Band Map Window point and shoot.
ALT F4 now toggles between your run frequency and the selected spot.
In prior versions of CT, ALT F4 toggled between the run frequency and last
spot in the Announce Window. Using the new scheme, you can repeatedly toggle
the run and pileup frequencies, holding the run frequency while calling in
  the pileup.
* Switch from radio 1 to radio 2 with the '.' (PERIOD) key. The old ALT-'.'
  works also.

9.37

* Fixed 940 bug
* Fixed networking crash
* Fixed SETDATE command (tnx K1AE)
* IARU check country is now fixed (tnx K3CT)
* Fixed crash on WRITELOG of large VHF logs (tnx K1TR)
* CT now reads and restores the CW sideband (upper or lower)
* CT now supports PTT on pin 16 of the LPT ports. Pin 16 is asserted for
one baud (dot period) before CW sending commences. This allows amplifier
relays time to trip before the RF hits.
* Fixed the "long dash problem" when using the '+' key to confirm and qrz
* This version has a re-written communications handler for talking to radios,
packet and networking. This is prep work for the Windows release
* FT840 added, but not tested (I don't have a radio to test with).

* fixed a 8 year old bug in CQ160 reporting. The mode listed in th .ALL file
was shown as CW, even in the SSB contest. (tnx N2LQQ)

* CT no longer polls Kenwood radios while PTT is asserted. Some Kenwoods
stutter on CW during RS232 activity. (tnx VK4EMM)

* There are two new text commands POINTRATE and QSORATE. POINTRATE displays
rates in points over the last 10 minutes or hour. QSORATE is the rate for
the last 10 or 100 QSOs. (tnx CT1BOH)

* After a band change via typing in a frequency, the announce window now
  follows properly. (tnx KV1W)

* Writelog nows produces .CON file in WPX test (tnx OH2XX)

* Changes for Field Day

  1. Removed packet bonus
  2. Removed VHF bonus
  3. Added band change (QSY OK) checking, set to 15 minutes.
If a violation occurs, the time field is highlighted in red.

* The 15 minute rule in FD now applies to each station individually (tnx N9MUC)

* There area new text commands NOVICE and NONOVICE. When NOVICE is set
a red and white indicator is set next to the radio indicator. Band changes
NOVICE allow only 80N, 40N, 15N and 10N. When NONOVICE is set, all the bands
  *except* 80N, 40N, 15N and 10N are allowed.

files. This is now fixed. K1EA/SM will create a file called K1EA.TXT
with K1EA/SM as the callsign inside the file.

* CT now requests a section in all ARRL contests. DX stations
  should enter "DX"

9.56
* Adds Cabrillo output to ARRL VHF contests
* Allows spaces in ALT-N output

9.57
* fixes a bug where the .BIN file can be overwritten in the VHF contest.
The way to cause it was to start CT with the full file name, IE VHFTEST.BIN,
not just
VHFTEST. The run writelog. A bug in the file generation name caused one of
the ouputs to go to
  VHFTEST.BIN. (tnx K1EP)

unpredictable crashes. This is a day one bug!

* More repair to the AA rules. (tnx JH8KYU)

9.62

* Changed VHF contests to represent frequencies in 100 Hz steps.
This prevents overflow of a 32 unsigned integer.

* QSO's are now possible on 10gHz

* Changed directory search order .DAT files to look in

1.The directory containing the .bin file.
2.The directory pointed to by the CTPATH environment variable.
   3.The directory containing the executable.

For example, if your current working directory is: C:\HOME
you could type the line: D:\CT\CT.EXE D:\CT\LOGS\CQWW\CQCW99.BIN

If there is a CTY.DAT in D:\CT\LOGS\CQWW\CQCW99.BIN, CT will use that

* There is a good change that the above change fixed the DVP crash with
a ramdrive setup. I did not test this.

9.63

* FD requires RST and QTH from DX stations. CT now loads CTY.DAT and will
accept any exchange from DX. (tnx K2BA)

* removed the microwave bands from the frequency display (ALT-J) because they
too large to fit in a 32 bit integer

* added the concept of "supported bands" to radio code. CT will now control
supported bands for particular radio. After a QSY to an "unsupported band",
CT ignores the radio and act's like there is no radio. QSY to a supported
band, and the radio comes alive again.

For the moment, all radios are set to the standard bands (160 through 10, no
WARC). I will be adding band sets for particular radios (VHF and WARC) soon.

* CT now recognizes Antarctica IOTA's (AN) (tnx OH1MDR)

* IOTA now counts 3 points for non-IOTA stations and 3 points for stations in
  your own IOTA. (tnx OH1MDR)

* IOTA prompts you for your IOTA when starting for the first time. If you are
not an IOTA station press <ENTER> in response to the prompt.

a text editor after the contest to fill these in. (tnx K1KI)

* Fixed FD to take KL7, KH6, KP4 and KP2 as W's, not DX

* Radio control restores split info properly after QSY to a spot and back
  (tnx AD1C)

* Radio control no longer moves VFO B on a QSY to a spot if the spot is not
  split (tnx KD2P)

9.65

* Fixes IARU Cabrillo output in the mode column.

* Normalized IOTA listing (ALT-M) to form AANNN
For example EU3 displays as EU003 (tnx G3VHB)

9.66.011

* Finally getting some traction on the SO2R problem. I'll write something
up to really explain it, but it's looking pretty good with the WX0B box.
Thanks Jay, for letting me borrow it.

There are two new text commands: ONERADIO and TWORADIO

Use the ONERADIO command with SO2R Master in manual mode.
Use the TWORADIO command with SO2R Master in automatic mode

ALT-PERIOD is the make key combination to switch radios.

Eventually it will have ALTRADIO, which will perform automatic CQ's on
  alternate radios.

* WAE for both EU and non-EU is working again, although I haven't completely
tested the QTC's over a network, which means they probably don't work right.
I'm going to try to have it right by the start of WAE CW in two days, so
look for updated 9.66 in CTVAULT.

* Added OCEANIA DX CONTEST, which is the ol VK/ZL contest

9.67

* There is a new text command ALTERNATE. CQ's toggle between radio1 and radio2
until you type in a call. At that point you are locked on the radio that has
the caller. The next CQ starts the cycle again.

* Gab (ALT-G) broadcasts to all computers if you press <Enter>. It gives you a
choice of destinations if you press <Ctrl-Enter>

9.68

* fixes the ICOM mode bug introduced about 8 revs back

* fixes the repeat function, which was broken when adding SO2R
  stuff

* fixes the wrong mode problem

* fixes the bin file in the wrong directory problem

  Examples are K1TTT.NET and 205.247.190.48 (W1HR).

* After installing CTWIN, you must reboot to activate the CW sending function

9.71

9.82

* in CTWIN, you may now add a port number to the telnet address
  For example: dxc.k1ea.com 7300
This connects to port 7300 on dxc.k1ea.com, which is the DXSpider connection
The default port is 23 (telnet), which is accepted by many, but not all
IP connected clusters. DXC.K1EA.COM now accepts regular port 23 as well as
  7300.

* A lot of work was done to make sure each band remembers its mode
and split status when changing bands. For example,
running split on 40 sideband, jumping to a CW spot on 20, then returning
to split sideband on 40 should work.

* There is still work to do to save and restore RIT, XIT and filter settings,
but I'm getting there. When jumping to a spot, CT does not attempt to
choose a mode and sideband based on frequency. This is a tar pit I'm not
  ready to enter.

9.83

* Added FT847 and FT817 support

* Fixed a split mode bug in some other radios

9.84

* added TS2000

* fixed a few little things in AR10

* Single band contests with no radio configured
now comeup on the correct band

9.85

* A lot of testing was done with K1TTT and K1EP with regard to testing
  mode and radio issues.

* Thanks to a loan from W1JR, the FT817 is online.

* All the flavors of multimode contests should be stable with respect to
changing mode issues. When changing bands, the radio should return to the
last mode used.

* There are some things to be aware of when using radio control

    1. If you toggle ALT F4 too quickly, IE the radio doesn't get completely
switched
before trying to switch back, you can lose your run frequency. We all
HATE that. In time I hope to have a completely secure method worked out.

    2. If you toggle to a spot in a multi-mode contest CT will not
automatically set the mode for you. You need to set it yourself.
Unfortunately when you ALT-F4 to your run frequency and ALT-F4 back to
the spot
you will have to set the mode again. I anticipate fixing this in the
near future.

    3. I don't have access to most of the radios on the supported list, so you
will have to try as many contest/category/modes as possible and give me
good feedback before all is solid.

    4. I have been getting random "radio timeout" messages with the MP, but it
doesn't seem to affect operation at all.

* Fixed the "VE's always show up as mults in the CQ160 contest" bug.
