[ct-user] Problems with MERGE.EXE

I am trying to merge two logs with V9.46.  Merge.exe does its thing,
however the destination file is not modified.  A new file xxx.new is
created, but is very small and unreadable with a text editor.

Why can't I get the logs to combine??
