I have uploaded new master callsign database files to http://www.k1ea.com
. You can also get to them through the CT Vault.
Of course, a big THANK YOU goes out to everyone who sent me logs (too many
to mention). I lost count of how many hours this took (at least 20,
probably closer to 40). I got very close to running out of disk space at
times.
Special thanks to Mario, S56A who supplied a database of known-good
Slovenian callsigns.
This year I tried to remove many of the portable designations to leave just
the base callsign (ie. KL7NL/4 is now just KL7NL). Of course, there are
still many portable callsigns in the database (like F/OK1EE), but I hope
that they are not duplicated too much.
With the new PA vanity callsigns, there are surely a lot of former PA calls
in the database. Does anyone from The Netherlands have a list of OLD->NEW
callsigns so I can fix the database?
I have attached some statistics below (set your E-mail program to display
fixed-width) from the 4 years I have been building the database. Remember
that each year, the database starts out empty, i.e. I do not use any data
from the previous database. All databases were generated using a threshold
of 10, i.e. a call had to show up 10 times to be counted in the
database. The numbers represent the total number of callsigns in that
category. You will see that this year has a much larger database of
callsigns than in previous years.
