Well, it came out great, Don. Lots of suggestions and I got great examples
like:
Win95 uses a file called Dosstart.bat. Here is what mine looks like:
C:\WIN95\CTCM
E:\PROGRA~1\SBCD\DOSDRV\CTLOAD E:\PROGRA~1\SBCD\DOSDRV\SBIDE.SYS
/D:MSCD001 /V /P:168,10,36e
C:\WIN95\COMMAND\MSCDEX /D:MSCD001 /V /M:8
E:\Tools_95\GUEST
Essentially, it looks like your typical Autoexec.bat file. The problem
is in loading xx.SYS files. The CTLOAD (SoundBlaster) utility can do
this. I'm not aware of any intrinsic Win98/95 command that can.
Good luck,

and thanks everyone for your pointers!

Randy,
How did that workout. Do you need some examples?

All you have to do is add them into the autoexec.bat and config.sys as
needed.
All real mode drivers load there, if windows detects that a 32 bit driver
exsists, it will do it's best to disable them, i.e., CDROM drivers loaded in
config.sys, not MSCDEX (MSCDEX forces real mode, 16 bit operation).
ALso look at the MSDOS.SYS file, hits hidden. To edit it use the
following,
ATTRIB -R -S -H MSDOS.SYS (from the root of the c drive. C:\>)
This will allow editing. Remember to use :
ATTRIB +R +S +H MSDOS.SYS when done editing.
NOTE: Antivirus progarms such as Nortons will mark the file as being
possibly attacked, please don't recover, just re-innoculate the file. Now
your asking why should I edit. Well thats where you can bring up the boot
menu and other features useful. Please read the attached article from MS
TECHNET. This is one of the things I do for a living.

PS: I have a Win95A, WIN95 OSR2, Win98 machines and all have worked very
well
for contesting. I don't have any problems using DVK, Rig control or other
features of CT for Phone/CW contests.
