Type in 28500 <enter> in the call field before the first QSO. I'll fix this

Hi all,
I just loaded CT9.37 and configured a file for the ARRL 10M contest.
I used the latest files from the ctvault. When
I input the 1st QSO, RST, sernum, and press return, CT responds with
"Out of Band! 14000000".
I am configured for no radios, no TNCs, no nuthin external.
I tried a similar config for the ARRL DX (W/VE) - no problem.
How can I be out of band on a one band contest?
Clues? Tips?
