Thanks for the suggestions to reboot under MS DOS mode. Under DOS, using
serial port 2 and comstr2 I was still not able to get CT to talk with my
FT1000D. However, switching everything to serial port 1 and comtsr1, I now
get the CAT SYSTEM light blinking on the radio but I still have the
following problems: 1) CT will not update its band with the band to which
the radio is set. 2) I can use the ALT+F1 key to change the band on the
radio and CT advances its band but then CT returns to 10 meters very
quickly thereafter. Anyone heard of such a weird thing? Any suggestions?

I am running a Yaesu Ft 1000D and using a PC with Windows 98. I can not
get CT to talk with my radio - either to read the radio or to set the
frequency. I have messed around with Windows 98 trying to set serial port
2 to 4800 N 2 but it has no affect. Does anyone have any solutions?
