J-P,
Make sure the FT-890 is set to VFO A. CT won't recognize anything the
transceiver does to VFO B. IF that doesn't work, perhaps the FT-1000
radio setting in CT will work better ( I know it does for my FT-990, not
sure about the FT-890).
