I dont think I saw the original question on this thread, but here's what I
know about MP COM problems with CT:
First, you must have CT version 9.28 or later to even be able to talk to an
MP. You need 9.32 (I think) or later for the clarifier to work properly
with CT frequency readout.
Second, make sure that your radio is not in the "MTUNE" mode on the main
VFO. It must be in regular old VFO A mode.
Third, make sure the program is set up correctly. You must load the
matching COMTSRn.exe TSR for whichever port you are using. That command
line in you startup batch file should look like: "COMTSRn -b4800 -n82".
Then once you've started CT up, select the FT1000MP as Radio 1 and also
make sure that the port is assigned to radio control in the last screen
before you get to the regular logging screen.
Lastly, realize that you cannot reliably run CT from a Windows 95/98 DOS
Shell (DOS Window). You must run it as a dedicated DOS task.

Subject: [ct-user] 1000MP and CT
Thanks for the advice I have received from so many.
Gary, W0TM, has helped me immensly byt the CT-program still does not work.
Gary has gone through with me the various possibilities that there might be
and still no change. However, he also suggested that I check if the
DX4WIN-program worked. So I downloaded the demo and it worked Ok, no
problems with band changes etc. Neither were there any problems using the
TR-program, that I also tested. I just set it up and it worked.
My FT1000MP is a brand new one. One way might be to to a master CPU reset,
as has been suggested by several. Being into the rig for only two weeks I
think I will learn a little more about the machine first.
So for the time being I will now change to the TR-program that controls the
FT1000MP without any problems. As I am more familiar with the CT-program I
hope someone will come up with a solution so I can continue with the
CT-program.
By the way, I am Friday this week off to SV5 where I will use the signal
J45KLN and I will be there for four weeks. I have no antenna for 160, but
on the other frequencies I will try to have some activity, mostly on CW.
QSL:s directly to me in Sweden /Goran Lundell, Algovagen 11, SE-13336
SALTSJOBADEN, Sweden/ or via the Swedish or the Greek QSL-buros.
Again thanks and 73
Goran/SM0CMH
